7. Cookies

We use so-called cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files that are stored in the memory of your end device via your browser. Cookies store certain information (e.g. your page settings), which results in each case in connection with the specific end device used and which is sent back to us by your browser when you visit the website again. Cookies serve to make the use of our website more user-friendly and effective and thus more convenient for you.

When you enter our website, we inform you about the types of cookies we use and give you the option of accepting or rejecting individual types of cookies. We only load non-essential cookies once you have consented to their use.

We use session cookies, which are deleted when you end your session and close your browser. We also use persistent cookies to optimise user-friendliness, i.e. these cookies are stored beyond the duration of your session until their storage time expires or they are deleted.

Most of the cookies used on this website are set by us (so-called “first-party cookies”). However, we also work together with third-party providers (e.g. for analysis and marketing purposes) who also set cookies on our website (so-called “third-party cookies”).

Most of the cookies used on our website are technically necessary for the operation of our website or the provision of the functionalities offered on our website (so-called “necessary cookies”). If these cookies allow us to draw conclusions about you personally, we base the lawfulness of the processing of this data on the necessity of the processing to safeguard our legitimate interests (effective and secure provision of the functionalities and services on our website) (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR).

If you have given your consent via the cookie banner, we also use other cookies on our website for the purpose of storing your preferences (so-called “preference cookies”), the statistical evaluation of the use of our website (so-called “statistics cookies”) and/or the analysis of user behaviour to display personalised content (so-called “marketing cookies”). These cookies are not absolutely necessary for the provision of the services and functionalities offered on our website, but help us to offer you a more pleasant and attractive user experience.

Insofar as we process your personal data in connection with the use of preference, statistics or marketing cookies, we rely on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR or § 25 para. 1 TDDDG).

You can decide individually which types of cookies you wish to accept or reject. You can also revoke your consent to the use of preference, statistics and/or marketing cookies in whole or in part at any time via the cookie settings and change your cookie settings. Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing of your data based on your consent prior to its withdrawal.

Our website uses cookies and similar functions to process end device information and personal data. The processing serves to integrate content, external services and elements of third parties, statistical analysis/measurement, personalised advertising and the integration of social media. Depending on the function, data is passed on to third parties and to third parties in countries that do not have an adequate level of data protection and is processed by them. Your consent is always voluntary, is not required for the use of our website and can be refused or revoked at any time on our website.

7.1 Google Analytics

We use the web analysis tool “Google Analytics” from Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”) to customise our website. Google Analytics creates user profiles on the basis of pseudonyms. For this purpose, permanent cookies are stored on your end device and read by us. In this way, we are able to recognise and count returning visitors and use the statistics and reports obtained to improve our website and make it more interesting for you. You can call up an overview of the data used by Google to analyse usage under Automatically recorded events.

The data collected by Google Analytics is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. In Google Analytics 4 , which we use for our website, no individual IP addresses are logged or stored. Furthermore, no precise location data is provided. Only the following metadata is derived from the individual IP addresses: : “city” (and the derived latitude and longitude of the city), “continent”, “country”, “region”, “subcontinent” (and the ID-based equivalents).

When our website is accessed from member states of the European Union, the IP address data is only used to derive this metadata and then deleted immediately. They are not logged, are not accessible to third parties and are not used for other applications.

Google acts for us as a processor within the meaning of Art. 28 GDPR. Google will therefore only use all information strictly for the purpose of analysing the use of our website for us. Google may transfer this information to third parties if this is required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google. You can find more information about Google Analytics at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.

To ensure compliance with European data protection requirements when transferring data to the USA, Google relies on the EU adequacy decision under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework pursuant to Art. 45 (1) GDPR. Google has certified itself in accordance with the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” and is thus committed to complying with European data protection requirements. You can find more information at: https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks?hl=de.

Data processing is carried out on the basis of your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR or § 25 para. 1 TDDDG if you have given your consent via our banner. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future.

7.2 Web fonts

Our website uses so-called web fonts provided by Adobe Fonts for the standardised display of fonts. Adobe Fonts is a service provided by Adobe Systems Software Ireland Limited: 4-6 Riverwalk, City West Business Campus, Saggart, Dublin 24, Republic of Ireland (“Adobe”), which enables access to a font library for use in desktop programmes and websites.

When you call up a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly. For this purpose, the browser you are using must connect to the Adobe Fonts servers. As a result, Adobe Fonts becomes aware that our website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Adobe Fonts is in the interest of a uniform and appealing presentation of our online offers. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

Adobe transfers the data collected across national borders to other countries in which Adobe and its partners and service providers operate, including the USA. To ensure compliance with European data protection requirements when transferring data to the USA, Adobe relies on the EU adequacy decision under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework pursuant to Art. 45 para. 1 GDPR. Adobe has certified itself in accordance with the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” and is thus committed to complying with European data protection requirements. You can find more information at https://www.adobe.com/de/privacy/policy.html. If Adobe transfers the collected data to a country that is not in the EEA and is not subject to an adequacy decision by the EU Commission, Adobe relies on standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. You can access the European Commission’s implementing decision at https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/dec_impl/2021/914/oj?locale=de.

Further information on Adobe Fonts can be found at https://fonts.adobe.com/?ref=tk.com and in the Adobe Fonts privacy policy: https://www.adobe.com/de/privacy/policies/adobe-fonts.html.

If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font will be used by your computer.
